FAQ

Is a rent receipt generated here legally valid?

A rent receipt is valid when it truthfully records a payment: who paid, how much, for which period, and who received it. This tool includes all standard fields (receipt number, dates, amount in words, payment method, signature line). It is not legal advice — requirements vary by state.

What fields does each receipt include?

Receipt number (e.g. RR-2026-0001), date issued, tenant name, amount in numbers and in words, property address and unit, rental period, payment method, your landlord details, notes, and a signature line.

Where is my data stored?

Only in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is uploaded to any server — there is no server. Use Export to back up your tenant list as a JSON file.

What is free and what costs money?

Managing up to 3 tenants is free forever. Unlimited tenants is a one-time payment — no subscription.

Can I use this for past months?

Yes. Add any rental months you need; the receipt number and issue date are set at generation time.
